A laboratory assessment of the effectiveness of four storage devices and Capsicum frutescens in the abatement of infestation of stored cowpeas by Callosobruchus maculatus (Coleoptera: Bruchidae)

A laboratory assessment of the effectiveness of four storage devices and Capsicum frutescens in the abatement of infestation of stored cowpeas by Callosobruchus maculatus (Coleoptera: Bruchidae)

Revue de Zoologie Africaine 107(3): 39-43

In laboratory experiments, cowpeas infested with Callosobruchus maculatus were placed in 4 types of storage container, with or without mixing with ground, dried fruits of Capsicum frutescens. The storage devices (ventilated plastic, unventilated plastic, jute sack and synthetic sack) were intended to differ in the amount of ventilation given to the chickpeas.
