A study of plantlet regeneration from protoplasts of Brassica napus

Acta Agronomica Sinica 17(5): 340-345

Protoplasts were isolated enzymatically from hypocotyls of Brassica napus Ningyou No. 7 and cultured in liquid or solid DPD medium containing various conbinations of growth regulators. After 4 weeks the cultures had formed masses of regenerated cells and small calli of 2 types: compact and green or yellow and loosely aggregated. The highest division frequency (13.2%) was obtained in DPD medium containing 1.5 mg NAA, 0.5 mg 2,4-D and 0.6 mg benzyladenine/litre.
