A study of the etiology and control of infectious diarrhea among foals in central Kentucky
The aetiology of infectious foal diarrhoea was studied in 493 sick and healthy foals on 19 farms over a 3-year period. Group A rotavirus was the most common cause of outbreaks of infectious diarrhoea; endoparasites and bacteria including Salmonella, Escherichia coli, and Campylobacter were rarely implicated.
