A study on adoption of improved maize among farmers in Zambia: a minor field study

This study examines the adoption rate of improved maize varieties in an area in southern Zambia. The study consists of a farm survey and a study of the problems confronting the seed company and credit banks working in Zambia. Interviews were conducted with 46 farmers in the Mazabuka area and with the staff of the Zamseed seed company, Lima Bank, CUSA Bank, the cooperative societies and the extension service.
