A study on the content of planning and management of the national parks in Japan and of changes (II): planning for visitor use and management

Bulletin of the Tokyo University Forests ( 91): 137-209

This paper examines landuse planning for recreation in rural areas in Japan. There are two planning practices which are adopted to control the environmental impact of these resources. Firstly, through the containment of the amount of land that is set aside for recreational resources, and secondly, through containing the scale of this building, so that the sites are unobtrusive on the existing natural environment.
