A study on the distribution of Phlebotomus spp. in Izmir, Turkey

During June-September 1991, a total of 2663 phlebotomine sandflies were caught on sticky traps (in 4 areas (Izmir, Karaburun, Bergama, Selcuk) and 13 stations) in Izmir province, Turkey. The dominant species were P. sergenti, P. papatasi, P. major and P. perfiliewi. Other species found were P. alexandri, P. major syriacus, P. mascittii, P. tobbi and P. simici.
