Accumulation of potato virus Y is enhanced in Solanum brevidens also infected with tobacco mosaic virus or potato spindle tuber viroid

Accumulation of potato virus Y is enhanced in Solanum brevidens also infected with tobacco mosaic virus or potato spindle tuber viroid

Annals of Applied Biology 121(2): 321-327

The accumulation of potato Y potyviruso (PYVo) and potato leaf roll luteovirus (PLRV) was studied in plants of S. brevidens co-infected with each of 6 viruses or a viroid. Virus could not be detected by ELISA in plants of S. brevidens infected solely with PYV. However, accumulation of PYV was increased c. 1000-fold in plants doubly infected with tobacco mosaic tobamovirus or potato spindle tuber viroid (PSTVd).
