Analysis of dermatophyte flora at a private clinic in Sapporo during the period 1982 to 1991
Statistical analysis of 4695 patients with dermatophytosis treated at a private clinic in Sapporo, Japan, during 1982-1991 revealed a sex ratio (male:female) of 1.5:1 and individuals aged 40-50 yr were most often affected. Of 5580 cases of dermatophytoses, tinea pedis was the most frequent infection (64.0%), followed by tinea unguium (14.2%), tinea cruris (10.4%), tinea corporis (8.2%), tinea manuum (2.8%), tinea capitis (0.3%), kerion celsi (2 cases) and tinea barbae (1 case).
