Analysis of virulence genes of Puccinia recondita f.sp. tritici population in China

The virulence of 811 P. recondita f.sp. tritici isolates was tested during 1986-91 using 32 near-isogenic wheat lines as differentials. The virulence genes V2a, V9, V15, V19, V24, V28 and V29 occurred with a frequency of <30%, while V12, V14a, V14b, V16, V22a, V23, V32 and V33 had a frequency >90%. V1, V2b, V2c, V3, V3ka, V3Bg, V10, V11, V13, V17, V18, V20, V21, V25, V26, V27 and V30 occurred with frequencies of 38.0-89.5%.
