Analytical pyrolysis - a method for the chemical characterization of weed biotypes

Analytical pyrolysis is discussed as a method for providing broader foundations for effective weed control strategies and programmes. The methods are explained and it is concluded that such procedures could be used to predict the efficacy of biological control agents on prospective target weed populations and to produce inferences relative to taxonomic affinities among species.
