The case of a 40-year-old man who presented with pruritis on the palms of his hands and the soles of his feet, and a headache is described. He then developed angiodema of the lips and had difficulty in breathing. The symptoms were nocturnal and came on very quickly. He first suffered from them during the summer of 1991, and although the symptoms temporarily abated, they developed again in June 1992.
