Anatomical and histological studies on T, patch and chip buddings in loquats (Eriobotrya japonica Lindl.)

Anatomical and histological studies on T, patch and chip buddings in loquats (Eriobotrya japonica Lindl.)

Doga, Turk Tarm ve Ormanclk Dergisi 16(3): 529-541

Stock and scion unification in T-, patch and chip buddings of loquat were studied using microtome sections taken 20, 40, 100 and 160 days after budding. Thick, dense necrotic layers formed on the union surfaces of buds and stocks just after budding. These necrotic layers were observed generally on the phloem sides of the scions. Callus layers formed between stock and scion and on the outer surfaces of the stock xylem.
