Angiostrongylus cantonensis abscess in the brain; what do we learn?

Angiostrongylus cantonensis abscess in the brain; what do we learn?

Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Psychiatry 55(10): 982-982

Ak Purohit et al. (Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry (1991) 54, 1015-1016) described a case in which an Angiostrongylus cantonensis brain abscess had given a misleading computed tomographic (CT) image leading to the incorrect diagnosis of tuberculoma. Shankar Prakash writes to say that such CT images in India would be presumed to be tuberculous leading to indiscriminate anti-tuberculous therapy without histological verification.
