Animal agriculture production systems vary throughout the world, but many of the limitations and complexities of production are universal. It is common to attempt comparisons among management systems, even though systems may differ in several features. A sound animal husbandry programme should provide a system of care that permits an animal to grow, mature, reproduce and maintain general health.
