Annual weather as a guide to irrigation and yield potential in south Texas



Sugar Cane ( 4): 8-12



Climatic and irrigation data for the Lower Rio Grande Valley in 1976-92 were related to potential and actual yields of sugarcane. Over the 16-year study period the mean annual number of actual growing days for sugarcane (i.e., the days in the growing season on which temperature was suitable for growth) was 281.
