Anomalous behaviour of black pied female calves caused by deficiency of sucking resistance and locomotion

Anomalous behaviour of black pied female calves caused by deficiency of sucking resistance and locomotion

KTBL Schrift ( 356): 91-99

The influence of space availability on calf behaviour was examined by comparing calves reared in narrow (50 x 120 cm) and group pens (6 calves in 12 msuperscript 2). Milk was provided twice daily in bowls and group housed calves were separated for 30 min afterwards to prevent mutual sucking.
