Application of Griffing's methods in determination of combining ability of sunflower self-pollinated lines

Six lines of diverse origin were crossed in a complete diallel in 1988 and the parents, F1 hybrids and reciprocals evaluated in 1989 for seed yield. Considerable heterosis was observed. Dispersion analysis of combining ability by the 4 Griffing methods provided information on genetic variance. GCA and SCA did not change with method of analysis.
