Artificial pollination and genetic improvement of Hevea on the Ivory Coast

Artificial pollination and genetic improvement of Hevea on the Ivory Coast

Revue Generale des Caoutchoucs et Plastiques ( 704): 99-104

In this account of breeding work since 1974, attention is paid to the 2 types of hybrid produced: those from crosses between clones of Wickham and those from crosses of the Wickham X Amazonian type. The relative value of these types of crosses is assessed, and information is presented on the evaluation of GCA effects. Details are also given of experiments involving artificial pollination promoted with various treatments, e.g. chemical treatments.
