Availability of zinc, iron, copper and manganese in young alluvial non-calcareous non-saline soils of Madhubani district as influenced by certain soil properties

Zinc deficiency was found in 70% of all samples taken from young alluvium, non-calcareous (average free CaCO3 0.2 to 6.2%), non-saline soils of Madhubani district (Bihar, India). Average Zn content was 0.65 ppm, Zn deficiency increased with increasing pH and decreased with organic C and available P content. No Fe or Mn deficiency was observed.
