Avoidable crop losses in rice due to insect pest complex in Gujarat, India

Field experiments carried out in 1985 in Navsari, Gujarat, India, to estimate yield losses caused by insect pests of rice showed that losses in grain and straw yields of rice GR 11 were 2.7 and 2.5 t/ha (43.55 and 35.71%), resp., during summer and 2.5 and 1.85 t/ha (37.88 and 24.03%), resp., during the wet season.
