Avoidable losses in pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan (L) Millsp.) variety U.P.A.S.-120 due to insect pests

Avoidable losses in pigeonpea (Cajanus cajan (L) Millsp.) variety U.P.A.S.-120 due to insect pests

Indian Journal of Entomology 53(3): 511-512

Field studies were conducted in Rajasthan, India, to determine the loss in yield of the pigeon pea variety UPAS-120 caused by Heliothis armigera Exelastis atomosa and Melanagromyza obtusa when plots were sprayed with insecticide (quinalphos 25 EC at 0.04%), or left untreated. The yield in plots treated with insecticide was 8.040 kg, compared to 3.520 kg in untreated plots.
