Bactocatch from Alfa-Laval

With microfiltration by the Bactocatch method before pasteurization, up to 99.6% of milk bacteria can be removed and the milk will have a shelf life of 16-20 days, compared with 6-8 days with normal pasteurization. In trials with Bactocatch equipment, capacity 5000 litres/h, at Falkenberg dairy (Sweden), reduction of anaerobic spore content averaged 98.4% for raw milk with <1000 spores/litre.
