Bank loans for financing the economic activities of cooperative farmers' circles

, : Bank loans for financing the economic activities of cooperative farmers' circles. Acta Academiae Agriculturae ac Technicae Olstenensis, Oeconomica ( 26): 51-58

There were 2677 farmers' circles in Poland in 1987, and of these 1908 were cooperatives. A study was carried out in 14 cooperative farmers' circles (SKR) during 1986-88, in Makow Mazowiecki. It showed the decreasing significance of bank loans to the financial operations and investments of the SKR. Limited access to institutional credit and its high cost in relation to other sources of finance are major reasons for SKR's use of informal channels.
