Bare rooted planting of Alnus nepalensis D. Don. in Nepal
Alnus nepalensis planted as bare rooted stock has shown considerable promise in afforestation programmes in Nepal. The difficulties and high cost of transport over mountainous terrain are important reasons for wishing to change from planting container-grown to bare rooted seedlings.
