Barley germination: biochemical changes and hormonal control

, : Barley germination: biochemical changes and hormonal control. Barley: genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology and biotechnology: 369-401

Barley grain composition and morphological changes during germination are briefly considered. Grain enzymes, particularly those of starch degradation (amylases, debranching enzyme and alpha -glucosidase) and mobilization of reserve proteins during germination are discussed. The role of gibberellins in germinating grain particularly in the aleurone layer is examined.

This reaction requires an efficient membrane binding, and the N-terminal beta-barrel...
