Field trials were conducted on silt loams at Fayetteville and Stuttgart in 1987-88 to predict soyabean yield loss as a function of E. crus-galli density and total DW. Predicted soyabean yield reductions were 0-78% for original densities of 1-500 E. crus-galli plants/m row. Soyabean yield reductions were linear from 0-150 barnyardgrass plants/m row, with an av. yield reduction of 0.25% for each plant/m row.
