Barriers to shrub reestablishment following fire in the seasonal submontane zone of Hawai'i
In a study area on shallow volcanic tephra in Hawaii National Park, seedlings of Styphelia tameiameiae, Dodonaea viscosa, Osteomeles anthillidifolia and Wikstroemia phillyreifolia were planted in burned and unburned plots with and without exotic grass cover (Melinis minutiflora and Schizachyrium condensatum).
