Basics of impedance technology and experiences with examining raw and pasteurized milk
Basic principles and concepts of impedance technology are described, including possible mistakes and interpretations. Results of tests with coliforms or Enterobacteriaceae in sterile and raw milk showed that impedance measuring was a suitable way of estimating bacterial counts, results were not so good for total microbial count in pasteurized milk. For detecting recontamination of pasteurized milk, pre-incubation and selected media that can estimate Gram-negative microorganisms are used.
