Batch and continuous centrifugals for the sugar industry. Part 3

, : Batch and continuous centrifugals for the sugar industry. Part 3. Zuckerindustrie 119(9): 747-756

Data on drives, controls, energy requirements, safety and cost-effectiveness of batch centrifugals are presented. The advantages of the frequency-controlled 3-phase a.c. motor are described. Energy requirements depend on the thickness of the wall, the radius and design of the centrifugal basket, the moments of inertia, the separation factor, the length of the purging phase, and volumetric capacity.
