This report is based on the experience of community organization work in which SPARC (Society for the Promotion of Area Resource Centres) has been involved in since its formation in 1984. SPARC is an NGO based in Bombay, western India, which has set up resource centres in areas geographically accessible to the groups that need them, providing information in areas where people can interact with their neighbours, develop skills and learn to make their own representations.
