Beef producers in the Pays de la Loire region and the reform of the CAP

, : Beef producers in the Pays de la Loire region and the reform of the CAP. Economie Rurale ( 220/221): 131-135

Simulations were carried out by FADN on 400 beef cattle farmers in the Pays de la Loire region of France of the effects of CAP reform. The chosen farms were representative of the 44 000 cattle farmers currently operating in the region. A slight increase in income is recorded for the 1991-96 period (+11% on average). This rise is a result of increases in direct payments, but these have not made up for the 27% fall in farm incomes between 1989 and 1991.
