Phenological characters and 8 yield components were analysed in 20 commercial varieties of Glycine max sown on 23 May 1991 and 19 June 1991 in 2 soyabean cultivation zones of Extremadura, Spain. In Coria (Caceres), the highest yielding varieties on the first sowing date were those from maturation group III (122-130 days to maturation), in particular Xiam (4023 kg/ha).
