Behaviour of late-season potato cultivars
Results are reported of trials on late-season production of 42 potato cultivars in France in 1989-91, including the effects of N fertilizer, cultural problems and tuber nitrate contents. It was concluded that the right choice of cultivar is very important for late-season growth, those with a long vegetative period being most suitable. Irrigation is also important for good quality tuber production from late crops.
