Behaviour of precipitable proteins in sera of sheep, goats and buffaloes to PEG-6000

Behaviour of precipitable proteins in sera of sheep, goats and buffaloes to PEG-6000

Indian Veterinary Journal 70(4): 304-307

Serum samples of sheep, goats and buffaloes were treated with different concentrations of PEG-6000 solution for varying periods and the amount of precipitable proteins was recorded. Increase in concentration as well as incubation period had an effect on amount of protein precipitated. Sheep sera required a 7% PEG solution (final concentration) at an incubation period of 10 min, while goat and buffalo sera required a 9% PEG final concentration at an incubation period of 15 min. and 30 min, respectively.
