Proceedings of the First National Workshop on Tuber Crops, 28-30 May, 1989: 232-239
Behaviour of some local potato varieties after cleaning from viruses through meristem culture
Pathogen-tested free indigenous varieties obtained from IPO, Wageningen, Holland (6 varieties), CPRI, India (5 varieties) and 5 local varieties were cleaned from viruses through in vitro meristem culture. Such plants raised from pathogen-tested tubers were evaluated for 6 characters in the field from 1985-86 to 1987-88. The highest yielding variety from each group was, respectively, Sadapakri, Jhaubilati and Shilbilati (180, 120.2 and 85.3 g/plant, respectively).
