Listeria was isolated from all chicken meat samples examined, 93.6% of beef samples, 22.6% of bulk milk samples, and 1% of animal faecal samples. The commonest species were Listeria innocua (40%), L. monocytogenes (3%) and L. grayi (1.2%).
