Chemical weed control in fodder sorghum (Sorghum bicolor)

Indian Journal of Agronomy 38(1): 117-119

In field trials conducted on sandy loam at Hisar during 1990-91, the effects were evaluated of atrazine (0.25-0.5 kg/ha) applied at 1, 7, 14 and 21 d after sowing (DAS) and 2,4-D (0.25 kg) applied at 7, 14 and 21 DAS for the control of weeds in sorghum JS 20. The most problematic weeds present were Trianthema portulacastrum and Echinochloa colonum.
