Degree of heterosis in the F1 and variation in crossing over in the F2 following distant crosses and crosses between closely related forms in tomato

Degree of heterosis in the F1 and variation in crossing over in the F2 following distant crosses and crosses between closely related forms in tomato

Buletinul Academiei de Stiinte a Re icii Moldova Stiinte Biologice si Chimice ( 2): 31-36

Hybrids heterozygous for recessive linked marker genes on chromosome 4 (ful and e) and chromosome 11 (hl and a), derived from crosses between forms from 4 different taxonomic groups (cultivars, wild and semicultivated botanical varieties, and wild species), were studied in the greenhouse and field. An association was detected between recombination frequency and heterosis, the extent of the association depending on the marker genes involved and the environment.
