Desi/kabuli introgression for yield improvement in chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.)

Three F3 progeny derived from 3 crosses (two desi X kabuli and one kabuli X kabuli) were studied to evaluate the amount of variability for 11 characters related to yield (leaf size, yield components, cycle and plant structure). Maximum variation was observed in the desi X kabuli crosses. Significant differences between crosses were observed for most of the characters studied.
