Determination of sucrose, glucose and fructose in sugarcane juice using high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC)

Determination of sucrose, glucose and fructose in sugarcane juice using high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC)

Revista Industrial y Agricola de Tucuman 69(1-2): 87-92

ISSN/ISBN: 0370-5404

A method of HPLC is described which permits simultaneous quantification of the main sugars present in sugarcane juice; its accuracy was confirmed using standard mixtures containing 1.8-6.0% sucrose, 0.2-2.4% glucose and 0.2-2.4% fructose. During analysis of juices from deteriorated sugarcane, considerable deviation was observed between the results from this method and values obtained by conventional methods.
