Differences among women farmers: implications for African agricultural research programmes

Differences among women farmers: implications for African agricultural research programmes

INTSORMIL Publication ( 93-3): 47-62

This paper presents a perspective that draws largely from the literature on women and development and the feminist philosophy of science. This suggests that the agricultural sciences and the technologies they produce are products of specific social circumstances and are themselves social constructs and practices. Advocates of this perspective believe that science and technology can transform social, economic and political relations.
