Ecological area and morphological/biological adaptation of a species in the plant introduction of natural flora

Ecological area and morphological/biological adaptation of a species in the plant introduction of natural flora

Byulleten' Glavnogo Botanicheskogo Sada ( 158): 14-17

The polymorphic species Medicago falcata was taken as a model for plant introduction in Siberia, the unit of introduction being a concrete ecotype (local population). All the individuals from natural Siberian populations studied were tetraploid, and >70 introduced populations from various areas of Siberia were collected between 1959 and 1989. Data are tabulated on basal internode length in the primary shoot of 9 Siberian ecotypes.
