Ecological border of distribution of Trichinella nativa Britov et Boev, 1972 and T. nelsoni Britov et Boev, 1972

Ecological border of distribution of Trichinella nativa Britov et Boev, 1972 and T. nelsoni Britov et Boev, 1972

Wiadomosci Parazytologiczne 38(3-4): 85-91

The geographical distributions of Trichinella nelsoni (Africa and Mediterranean subregions of the Palearctic) and T. nativa (the continental territory of Eurasia and the Neoarctic) appear to be delimited by temperature thresholds. A survey was carried out in an area where these geographical distributions overlap, at the confluence of the Syr Daria and Arys rivers, Kazakhstan, where both Trichinella species were identified in carnivores. Trichinellosis was found in jackals, wild cats and foxes.
