Ecological comparison between several populations of Orthoptera in the Lakhdaria region (Algeria)

Ecological comparison between several populations of Orthoptera in the Lakhdaria region (Algeria)

Mededelingen van de Faculteit Landbouwwetenschappen, Rijksuniversiteit Gent 56(3b): 1075-1082

The incidence of 18 species of Orthoptera in 3 habitats in Algeria in 1989-90 is described from monthly samples. Species diversity was higher in shrubs in August (2.47) and lower in cereal fields in May (0.02). Species distribution was generally of a flight type, and sometimes contagious. The most frequent species were Eyprepocnemis plorans (23.6%) in waste land and Calliptamus barbarus (34.9%) in cereals.
