Ecological studies of Cyanobacteria in 2 lakes in Hyderabad, India, with reference to water pollution were carried out over a 2 yr period. Continuous blooms of Microcystis aeruginosa were observed except during the summer months in both lakes. Blooms of Oscillatoria limosa and Lyngbya spp. occurred during the summer when sunshine and temp. were high.
