Ecological prerequisites for sustainable economic development and conservation of natural resources

Ten ecological prerequisites for environmentally sound and sustainable development are described. The foremost need is information transfer in the form of training and education, and integration of environmental information into development planning and decision making. Ecological science can demonstrate interdependencies within and between ecological systems. The emerging discipline of ecological economics can aid the development of economic models of ecological systems.
