Ecology and pathology of replant problems

Ecology and pathology of replant problems

Acta Horticulturae ( 363): 1-10

Replant problems in natural vegetation were illustrated by 2 cases of establishment and growth and decline of plant species in sand dunes. A number of cases of replant problems in horticulture and agriculture are discussed. Causes and strategies to clarify and solve these problems are emphasized. It is suggested that replant situations may or may not lead to replant problems and that effective "natural" biological control may prevent their occurrence.
