Economic analysis of mustard processing units: a case study

Bihar Journal of Agricultural Marketing 1(4): 382-389

This study examines the economics of processing mustard in Raipur district of Chhattisgarh region, Madhya Pradesh, India. Three sizes of processing units were prevalent in the region: small (four bolts operating with 7 HP); medium (six bolts operating with 10 HP); and large (nine bolts operating with 15 HP). A sample of ten expellers with nine bolts, two expellers with six bolts and two expellers with four bolts were included in the study. The data relate to 1989/90.
