Economic and energy use patterns under various categories of farms for cultivation of wheat in Madhya Pradesh

This paper assesses the energy input required for wheat production in Madhya Pradesh state, India. A survey was conducted in 1988/89 and 1989/90 covering the entire state of Madhya Pradesh representing different crop zones and agro-climatic regions. A total sample of 250 farmers was selected for the study, 50 from each zone. Wheat cultivation was found to be most popular during one season.
