Economic and social marginalisation of irrigation project displaced people

This paper analyses the condition of people displaced by the Upper Krishna Irrigation Project in Karnataka, India. The resettlement of people in areas closer to the submergence area, the lack of rehabilitation measures and the absence of advocacy groups as facilitators has had serious negative consequences for the displaced people.
